If you are considering purchasing alpacas either for business, fiber development or pleasure this one day seminar is exactly what you need to make good decisions based on facts. We will help you to understand your start up costs, financial risks to assist you in developing your business plan.

Covers everything you need to know to start raising alpacas.

The cost of the seminar is $40.00 per person, or $60.00 per farm. This charge will cover materials, lunch and a Barbeque dinner on the deck.

The Store
On September 3, 2010 our new retail store will open for business.

The store is an extension of our farm. You will not find a retail environment like this anywhere in Southern Jersey.

We have a wide range of alpaca products. Fashionable clothing including a golf line, accessories, fabulous gift ideas, “one of a kind” hand knitted items by local artists.
Knitters and spinners will love the fleece from our animals which has been sorted & graded natural, dyed yarns, and roving.

Store will be open Friday and Saturday throughout the fall/holiday season. Open more hours between Thanksgiving and Christmas, call for hours or private appointment.

Fiber Artistry – The Ins and Outs of Hand Dyeing Nano Felting

We are pleased to present Cindy Carr as the instructor of this class.

Cindy Carr is an avid fiber artist and instructor from Upstate New York. She has a 30 year background in fabric and fiber art. Cindy’s talents took her in a new direction as she discovered alpaca farming in 1998. She trained at the Natural Fibre Center at Olds College in Canada and is a Certified Camelid Fiber Sorter. She now shares the world of alpaca fiber thru farm seminars and at her Fiber Studio at Zen Alpaca. Her expertise and passion is for various dyeing techniques and felt making. When she is not immersed in alpaca fiber she travels the globe for inspiration and high altitude mountain climbing.

Students will learn to hand paint/dye alpaca yarn in the microwave. The process will be taught from beginning to end with a finished dyed skein to bring home. Several additional techniques will be demonstrated to show you how to prepare your yarn for various results, including dip-dye method, over-dye method and pot dyeing. Valuable tips and tricks to help you avoid mistakes will be discussed. Hand-outs included.

Nuno Felting (also called laminate felting) which is extremely creative and fun!!!

Charge is: $60.00 - This seminar includes lunch, 2oz skein of yarn, & Dyeing & felting supplies.
